Meet Jennifer
Founder & Clinical Director of Balanced Life Movement (BLooM) Jennifer is a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist in the state of New York and nationally Board Certified as a Dance/Movement Therapist.
She incorporates traditional talk therapies like Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy with Dance/Movement Therapy, mindfulness, and art. Jennifer has had 15 years of experience as a therapist. As Clinical Director at Balanced Life Movement, Jennifer focuses on connecting clients with the ideal therapist for their needs.
After receiving her B.A., in Psychology at Temple University (Philadelphia, PA), Jennifer moved to NYC to pursue her M.S. in Dance/Movement Therapy (DMT) at Pratt Institute. Jennifer has worked in NYC psychiatric hospitals, San Francisco intensive treatment centers, and in schools for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders.
In April, 2016, Jennifer received the highest level of accreditation with the American Dance Therapy Association: Board Certified Dance/Movement Therapist. In addition to her training in DMT, she has extensive experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Certification to teach Yoga for Children with Special Needs.
She explores painting and dancing at the same time creating "Choreography On Canvas", allowing patients to choose their preferred method of expression. Jennifer was also the Mental Health Coordinator and Dance/Movement Therapist at a public elementary school in Harlem where she began her work in family therapy.
She has been in private practice since 2015, with focus on the holistic treatment of anxiety, trauma, depression, and Bipolar Disorder in adults and children. Jennifer currently practices Teletherapy and is building a holistic, creative retreat center in upstate, New York (Bloom by the River).
Jennifer is ultra-creative, energetic, and passionate about helping people. On weekends, she is usually hiking, or searching for some new plants.

Meet Joy
Joy is a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist in the state of New York, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor in the state of Massachusetts, and is nationally Board Certified as a Dance/Movement Therapist.
Joy has had 11 years of experience as a therapist. Prior to entering the field, she worked as a yoga teacher and interfaith minister leading classes, workshops, and private sessions in movement, mindfulness, energy work, and spirituality.
Joy received her MA in Expressive Therapies from Lesley University (2014). She holds additional certifications in Shake Your Soul, Let Your Yoga Dance, Divine Sleep Yoga Nidra, SomaSoul Somatic Therapy, Brainspotting Level One, Heartmath, Herbalism, and Nutrition for Mental Health.
Joy has worked clinically in inpatient psychiatric care, residential treatment for adolescents, intensive outpatient addictions treatment, public schools, and community mental health and addictions outpatient treatment.
She has been in private practice since 2022, with focus on the holistic treatment of anxiety, trauma, depression, bipolar disorder, self-esteem and body image, and relationships. Currently, she is a PhD student at Lesley UNniversity researching how practicing Authentic Movement (a movement mindfulness practice) might impact attachment in adults.
Joy is creative, grounding, and compassionate. On weekends she enjoys being in the woods, dancing, and resting.
