Authentic Movement

Authentic Movement is a major offering in my work, one very close to my heart. The client (mover) moves with their eyes closed, seeking impulse and making choices around movement. The therapist witnesses them, present to her own experience. In a second portion, the mover then speaks what they know about their moving experience while the therapist listens and witnesses the speaking. The therapist may offer what is called spoken witnessing, an opportunity for the client to be validated, supported, and seen unconditionally. This practice offers a possible sacred space to express what has been hidden until it is ready to emerge. It is a deeply developmental and relational practice. For many, including myself, it is also deeply mystical. I currently train in the Discipline of Authentic Movement. I offer authentic movement with individual clients and in groups.
