The Full Story

I grew up taking dance classes and making art as a way to have fun, process my emotions, and learn about myself and the world. My love of movement brought me to became a yoga teacher in 2008. From 2008-2012, I dove into alternative learning, and I became an experienced registered yoga teacher (E-RYT 500), ordained interfaith minister, certified reiki practitioner, certified Let Your Yoga Dance ® teacher, and certified Divine Sleep Yoga Nidra ® teacher. While teaching at Yoga for Life in Long Island, I would mix yoga postures with things like art, writing, visualization, sounding, prayer, and dance into my yoga classes. I saw my students thrive and I needed to learn more about how healing happened through the integration of embodiment, creativity, and spirituality.

In 2014, I graduated from Lesley University with an MA in Expressive Therapies, specializing in mental health counseling and dance/movement psychotherapy. I have clinical experience in inpatient psychiatric and eating disorder treatment, residential treatment for children and adolescents, community mental health and addictions treatment for adults and children, intensive outpatient addictions treatment, and public school.

As my career developed, I went on to become a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC), licensed alcohol and drug counselor (LADC/CASAC), licensed creative arts therapist (LCAT), and board-certified dance/movement therapist (BC-DMT). I also became certified in Shake Your Soul ® and Brainspotting. Currently, I am studying The Discipling of Authentic Movement, HeartMath, and a PhD curriculum focusing on human development and learning. My diverse credentials express not only my undying love for learning, but also my deep belief in the power of a mind/body/spirit approach.
